Class of 1894

After a thorough reading of the January issue of this MAGAZINE, the writer of these notes came to the conclusion that his own work, at least so far as that issue was concerned, was largely superfluous. At any rate, what he had mainly to do was to refer to page 18, on which B. Smalley had what our Sage Hurd would probably call an "adjectival" comment on his own modesty; to page si, where there was an extended reference to Phil Marden's nomination for alumni trustee; and to page 74 (a continuation of the front page editorials), which had an extended comment on Eddie Grover's definition of an education.

Speaking of Phil Marden, the Secretary was intending to refer to Phil's expected trip to South Africa. However, he learns that this has been canceled on account of the accident which resulted in a broken ankle.

The Secretary can sympathize with Phil in his hospital experience, as he has recently had one himself. Arthritis was supposed to be the cause. The main point about it was that he was unable to send out as many holiday greetings as usual, and therefore wishes especially to acknowledge the goodly number of greetings which he received from the men of '94.
