Rubber Thayer writes that he has just lost his brother, who has been out in Thermal, Calif., with him the past 34 years, and he feels rather lonesome after such a long time together; they had 150 acres they cultivated. Rubber says he cannot for the life of him see how there could be any harmony to the songs the old crowd now sings, unless old age and distance have added charm and tone to the voices of those he reads about in the class notes, as doing most of the humming.
The Worcester Sunday Telegram of December 13 features a full-page spread of an interview with Sept. of Schools Walter S. Young, and the question is asked, "Why is the Worcester PublicSchool System Shrinking," and Walter states his views of the matter. It is interesting to note that Walter Young has held this position since 1923.
The New Hampshire state legislature meets for organization early in January, and the wise ones say that Eddie Hunter is in line for some important assignment, perhaps chairman of the Appropriations Committee.
