Traveling honors go to Herb Bayer '38 and to Irv Kiesling '42 who together drove from Hollidaysburg for our annual dinner meeting, March 27, at the Hotel Harrisburger. Along with them came Phil Kleinschmidt, applicant for the Class of '55.

Our guest speaker from Hanover was EddieChamberlain '36, executive officer of the College. He gave us an excellent message on the vital role Dartmouth, as a liberal arts college, is playing in this struggle for the survival of democracy in our world today.

The Class of '27 got the honors with three present: Ross Lyon, John Fritchey (both from Harrisburg) and Walt Lashar from York. New members who were welcomed were Bill Bucher '32 from Columbia; Paul Randall '43 and BurtProom '49, both of Harrisburg. There are now 103 Dartmouth men in Central Pennsylvania. An election of new officers had John Bogar '29 of Harrisburg handing over the president's gavel to your secretary; Ken Mac Donald '30, of Camp Hill, vice-president and publicity officer; and Gus Hull '37 of Harrisburg as secretary- treasurer. Harold Van Riper 1'4 of Carlisle offered the blessing and Dick O'Daniel '35 °f Harrisburg was selected program chairman, with the thought of monthly luncheons being started in the four cities of Williamsport, York, Lancaster and Harrisburg. Bo Daniels '32 of Camp Hill has agreed to study the feasibility of a future Glee Club concert in our area—something that has never happened before—and his father, LaMonte Daniels, also from Camp Hill was present.

Frank Davenport '38 of Harrisburg was unanimously re-elected chairman of the Interviewing Committee. The College and the Club are most fortunate in having Frank serve in this capacity, for he has the inclination and the ability, and somehow finds the time required.

Others present: Bill Page '33 from Camp Hill; Dale Brougher '44 from York; Doug Hoskins with a son in the Class of '54, and Vic Macomber '46, both of Mechanicsburg; also John Travers, sportswriter for the Harrisburg newspapers and friend of the College.

Congratulations are in order to: Dick Gerstell '33 of Lancaster, who has been named director of Pennsylvania's Civil Defense; and to Hack Davenport '39 of Harrisburg, recently made a director of The J. R. Thompson Co.

Secretary, 217 South High St., Mechanicsburg, Pa.
