AVERY active April was planned by the various clubs throughout the state. All arranged for meetings in consideration of the forthcoming Annual State Meeting at New Haven on May 13. Bridgeport April 14, at the home of Carl C. Reck, father of Thomas C. Reck '37. Mr. Reck has established a reputation as a host to Dartmouth alumni and fathers, the past two years, which assures top attendance. There is an accumulation of old business, including State Meeting plans. The question of the annual summer theatre party, as a means to increase the Student Aid Fund must be decided, as well as a discussion of the administration of the fund itself. To this end, Professor Neef joins the party for an explanation of the present-day scholarship and loan problems.

New Haven scheduled a reorganization meeting for Wednesday, April 21. Then the Western area followed with a spring party at the Hotel Davenport, Stamford, April 28. This one was labelled as a general Smoker, featuring a snow film and "Miss Dartmouth." John Thayer '18 and Robie have also written a new song that got its try-out on that evening. Incidentally, Robie is transferring to Lake Winnepesaukee as Chief Counsellor at Camp Samoset. He has had a wealth of experience in this kind of work at the Cape and Maine Camps, and should any of you have any worries regarding the spot for the boy this summer, Everett can solve your problem.

MAY 13-NEW HAVEN SECRETARY'S MEETING

All eight of Connecticut's secretaries plan the trip to Hanover for the Secretary's Meeting, May 7 and 8, at which time a big share of the affairs of the State Association are put in shape. Whit Gowrie '24 insists that his successor is soon to be lected and initiated to the Hanover Meeting. Should this be true, it would end a long string of years in harness. Ed Smith '32, Waterbury, is another new-comer. The date this year, the week-end prior to the State Meeting, just suits everyone.

The committees in charge of the State Meeting will be appointed at the forthcoming meeting of the New Haven Club. The schedule for the day will not vary much from previous years, with a luncheon at noon, for those playing golf. State Association and local association Officers will transact any necessary business prior to the dinner. Seven P.M. should be a close dinner-hour guess. There will probably be time for movies. Such a schedule as this permits a time extension for President Hopkins's address, as well as an opportunity for more informal discussion following dinner. The usual bulletin will be mailed early in May, to all alumni, and to such of the Fathers Association as are on our mailing list. The secretaries should assure fathers of undergraduates and alumni of their welcome. .... The area quotas for attendance cup competition will be made up by the local secretaries once again this year. Attendance for the past few years has been as follows:

1934 '935 1936Bridgeport 61 17 31 Eastern 10 7 3 Hartford 29 99 68 New Britain 24 27 36 New Haven 31 21 23 Waterbury 30 27 24 Western 653Misc. 36 9 2 237 212 . 190 Mailing list 800 850 950

The 1937 mailing list has jumped to 1080. The first year blessed with a fairweather break should shatter previous attendance records; and, with New Haven's geographic advantage, once again, "this may be the year."
