"Mr. and Mrs. Matt Bushnell Jonesannounce the marriage of their daughter,Catharine Bushnell, to Mr. Sumner HoveyBabcock, on Tuesday, April the thirteenth, nineteen hundred and thirtyseven. Mr. Babcock is with the Boston lawfirm of Burnham, Brigham, Pillsbury,Dana, and Gould."
The Globe Trotter's return was duly celebrated at the Parker House, Boston, on Friday, April 30. Who is this particular globe trotter? None other than our friend, Rolla W. Bartlett, who has been touring the Mediterranean and other European parts during recent months. Apparently he did not embrace the opportunity to become more favorably disposed toward the Hitler and Mussolini regimes, and there were indications that he is not altogether 100% in favor of the New Deal in America. Curly's native modesty has doubtless prevented his mentioning the fact, but it may be confidently asserted that, as '94's motion picture impresario, his main purpose in making this trip was to take several reels for our reunion in June, 1939.
While the Curly Bartletts were wandering around the Mediterranean sea, Ashley Hardy and his wife were touring the Caribbean. They came home for a short stay, and then started for Europe, whence they will return in time for the opening of college in September. Thus Ashley is spending his sabbatical half-year.
It will bie suspected that the Secretary picked up this information about '94's representative on the faculty during his recent attendance at the annual secretaries' meeting. He was unable to see Arthur Stone because the latter was off on a fishing expedition, and he had to forego a chat with King Cassin because his majesty was off on one or more business trips. Professor Colby, however, could not elude him, and unashamedly confessed that he considered '94 one of the best of his Dartmouth classes. This shows that our former teacher is retaining his mental keenness even in his 87th year.
