The big news continues to be the upcoming 30th. We trust that all of you have received—and played over and over—EddieO'Brien's great record encouraging a large turnout of '43's. Eddie has the following to report on the Reunion Committee's activities and success to date:
Here is the early evening box score on the record breaking 30th reunion. It all happens on June 12, 13 and 14. These fragmentary tabulations were phoned in at 2:15 p.m. January 17, 1972. Definitely coming through: 29 couples. Possibly can make it: five couples. Can't make it but wish we could: 15. The toughest "no" of all came from Howie Thomas APO San Francisco. He says the 25th was great but June '72 will still find him in Vietnam, while his wife Jacqueline and the kids will be in Tunis. He wishes us the very best of times. The Committee is delighted with the enthusiastic offers of help and ready response of those who have sent their returns in. They are anxiously waiting to hear from hundreds who have yet to reply. We can have the best Reunion and the quickest definite word on the tax if you will get those questionnaires mailed in today. Finance Committee-man Andy Caffrey says he greatly appreciates the advance deposits—they make him feel secure about all the wondrous planning for the big event. Frank Hartmann, always a good man and true, has generously offered a Bigelow carpet for a door prize. Both Binney Tower and George Mason have done the same. Binney is with Parker Brothers and George in Reno, Nev., promises golf shoes. We have the momentum now, so send Eddie a letter, or you'll hear from him! A complete list of current yes, no's and maybe's will appear in HerbMarx' Clanging Bells.
News from all about: Up in Portland, Me., Herb Nolan, an account executive for Dupont, Flore Forgan, Inc., has been elected to the school committee. Out west Ducky Drake is managing the Lodi, Calif., office of Merit-McBride, a real estate firm with particular emphasis on vineyard properties. Ducky has not only specialized in vineyards since joining Merit-McBride, but he is also doing vineyard management. It is nice to know that '43 is contributing to both ends of the flow from the "fruit of the vine."
In the Philadelphia area, Bud Kast (Germantown Academy's headmaster) was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of the Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr. The press release we received says, "this is his first association with an all-girls school"-that's what they think!

Ren Grevatt from Upper Montclair. N. J., has been active in scouting. The Grevatt's also have a farm in Plymouth. Vt., only 40 miles or so from Hanover. They too are looking forward to the 30th. Judge George Barlow (also New Jersey) has daughter Lisa in Smith and son George in Dartmouth. The Judge also is planning for the 30th. "Farmer" Mead and wife Jan indicate regret in not making fall reunions recently. "Farmer" writes, however, that he is looking forward to the "early 30th". Jack Troster out in Atherton, Calif.,—with a son in '73—also looks forward to the reunion.
Diane Clarke writes on behalf of husband Bud that they have recently finished a trip to Vienna and Rome in celebration of having all their boys in college.
