Pat Hathaway reports a visit during the summer from Charlie Ryder 'O7 non-graduate, now living in California,—and a brief fishing vacation with his son Jack in Canada.
Sam Barnes writes from Seattle, "Nothing exciting to report.—Our younger daughter graduated from Mt. Holyoke in June.—Haven't seen any 'O7 men in some time, but we did have about thirty Dartmouth men at our home on an island in Puget Sound this past month, eight of whom were undergraduates."
A message from Bob Stokes is always welcome. He writes, "Met Al Farrier one hot day on the subway about a month ago, and he looks fit as a fiddle, almost as good as he did on the Dartmouth line back in 1903-1906.—N0 news about myself (!). But —to whom it may concern, both my daughters are through Mt. Holyoke, one continuing for her Ph.D. at the University of California. And my post-bellum son will be ready for Dartmouth next fall."
Carlos T. Pierce, chairman of the Newton, Mass., Board of the Boston Real Estate Exchange, and director of the latter organization, sends these contributions to the Secretary:
"Daughter, Sally, last year at Colby Junior College, New London, N. H.—Son, George, starts at Newton High this fall.— Tod Plummer (associated with Cully in real estate), and his family have had a cottage at Boothbay Harbor this summer. Tod's daughter Natalie enters Knox College, in New York state, this fall, and his son, Gordon, graduates from Wellesley High next spring.—Walter Andrews is employed by the Boston and Maine Railroad at North Station, Boston. Walter's daughter is taking a postgraduate course at Sanborn Seminary, Kingston, N. H.
Dick Heneage, Rip's oldest son, competed most creditably in the New Hampshire Open Golf Championship Tournament at Hanover on August 15, winning the amateur division. Bob Heneage '37, Rip's second son, has recently been employed by the National Grange Insurance Companies, at Keene, N. H.
Dr. Charlie McKendree, wife and son, visited Hanover recently. Young Charles graduated from Princeton last June and enters College of Physicians and Surgeons this fall. Charles, senior, was recently elected president of the New York Neurological Society.
Morris Smith, Harry Storrs, and "Deke" Leighton are all reported to have been in Hanover during the summer.
The marriage of Mrs. Nickerson, widow of our classmate, to Mr. Otto Kley Jr., in Boston, was announced recently.
The death of Mrs. Worthen, mother of our classmate, on August 16 was reported in the Boston papers of that date.
