As DIRECT-WIRE returns from different L parts of the country were pouring in Saturdays at Henrici's restaurant about early victims, pigskin stocks rose to new highs. The Chicago alumni attended the Princeton, Brown, Harvard and Yale games by remote control on the 2d floor of Henrici's, 71 West Randolph Street. They will congregate there on proper Saturdays to hear all about the Cornell and Stanford games. To date, attendance has ranged from 65 to over 140 and the chance for reunions has been enjoyably exploited.
Appropriate to the season was a showing of official 1937 football films at the luncheon of November ad, an affair doubly effective through the report of Lou Leverone on actions taken by the Alumni Council at its recent meeting. Luncheons are being held at 12:15 P.M. each Wednesday at The University Club of Chicago.
Fort Dearborn circles are stirred by the expected arrival of the football squad in Chicago on November 19. Arrangements are completed for practice facilities and members of the squad and coaching staff at al. will be guests of Northwestern University at the N. U.Notre Dame game. The mayors of Chicago and Oak Park have assured us that the squad will have a police escort plus sirens for the Windy City and suburbs.
