DUE TO THE fact that the Chicago alumni were recklessly taking losses through-out December in a desperate effort to fall into lower income tax brackets, there was a lull in local activities.

Except for one more annual feature, the Undergraduate Luncheon, dated December 29th. Over 100 modern, ancient and less seasoned embodiments of The Dartmouth Man registered an appearance and jammed Mandel's Green Room; even after special dispensation was provided for the overflow, some sons of Dartmouth were figuratively hanging from the rafters.

To start the program, Prexy Bill Abbott '27 introduced members of each undergraduate class, one from each giving personal reports and news hot from Hanover. Then, members of the varsity, junior varsity and freshman football squads were introduced. Captain-elect Bob MacLeod '39 spoke of pigskin prospects for '38, described as fine with reservations and precautions against over-confidence. Bill Knight '08, alumni councillor and football official, wound up and delivered the principal address, being an account of football incidents, recent trips to Hanover, working of the Dartmouth Athletic Council, and praise for certain Dartmouth men.

There is a bearish rumor making the rounds to the effect that the "Dartmouth Diddings," our local bulletin, will soon be full of recipes and memoranda—the editor, Keith Drake '24, was duly married in early December.

Although special future events are veiled with uncertainty, the weekly luncheons are definitely scheduled for Wednesdays at 12:15 P.M., Green Room, Mandel Brothers.
