Secretaries of alumni clubs and associations have been notified that certain positions on the Alumni Council will become vacant in June. According to constitutional provisions the nominations for these places will be made by alumni clubs in the six council districts of the country, but there is also a means of submitting nominations from any group of one hundred or more alumni. This latter possibility is explained below.

After nominations are received by the secretary of the Alumni Association in Hanover mail ballots for election will be sent to all graduates of the College where more than one nominee is running for a Council vacancy.

In the New England States district Richard E. Pritchard '14 of New Britain, Conn., completes his first term of office and is therefore eligible for re-election from this district.

In the Middle Atlantic States district Sumner B. Emerson '17 of New York City completes his first term of office and is therefore eligible for re-election.

In the Central States district Fletcher R. Andrews '16 of Cleveland, Ohio, completes his first term of office and is therefore eligible for re-election.

In the Middlewestern States district Horace G. Hedges '11 of Cedar Rapids, lowa, completes his first term of office and is therefore eligible for re-election.

In the Southern States district Warren C. Kendall '99 of Washington, D. C., completes his first term of office and is therefore eligible for re-election.

in the Rocky Mountain and PacificStates district Frank J. Reagan '09 of Berkeley, California, completes his second term of office. Mr. Reagan is not eligible for re-election.

According to Article V, Section 3, of the Alumni Council constitution, nominations beyond those submitted by approved alumni clubs may be made as follows:

The Secretary of the General Association of Alumni shall publish in the ALUMNI MAGAZINE not later than the February issue a statement of the vacancies, if any, tobe filled the ensuing July 1. In addition tothe method of making nominationsthrough local alumni clubs and associations as explained above, it will be possiblefor any group of 100 alumni qualified tovote in the Alumni Council election ofthat year to petition the Secretary in favorof a properly qualified nominee, the petition to carry the endorsement of the candidate whose name will then appear on theelection ballot of that district. Such nominations must be received by the Secretaryof the General Association not later thanApril 10.

Dartmouth Night Dartmouth Night this year will be held on Thursday, March 3. Coincident with alumni gatherings throughout the world, the traditional Hanover program will be held in Webster Hall that evening, with President Hopkins as master of ceremonies. Alumni and undergraduate speakers, the Dartmouth Band, and the Dartmouth Glee Club will also participate in the program, which is being arranged for Palaeopitus by Sidney B. Cardozo Jr. '38 of New Rochelle, N. Y. As an annual feature of the festivities in Webster Hall, telegraphic greetings will be read from alumni clubs and groups in this country and abroad.
