OUTSTANDING ACTIVITY for February of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Northeastern New York was the showing of the football pictures at the University Club in Albany on the evening of Tuesday, February 8.
Captain Merrill Davis '3B was the guest of honor and gave a running comment on the pictures which added immeasurably to the enjoyment of the audience. Invitations, to be relayed to the members, were sent to the secretaries of the local Amherst, Brown, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Cornell and Columbia Alumni Associations and to coaches and sports writers. Considerable neWSpaper publicity was given to the program and the crowd overtaxed the facilities of the University Club.
This is the second year that the local Dartmouth Alumni Association has asked members of other Clubs to the football pictures and has gained considerable favorable comment for this act of hospitality.
Captain Davis and the football pictures were brought to the Albany Academy on the following morning and shown to the entire student body of 500.
Many Dartmouthites attended the dinner sponsored by the Cornell Alumni Association to greet new president, Rufus Day. John McElroy 'O3 was among the speakers. Our relationship with this organization is particularly cordial.
February 12 found Ned Deßouville '2O and members of the local Club guiding Boy Scouts down the hills of the Municipal Golf Course in the annual Dartmouth- sponsored ski meet. John McElroy came through handsomely with another cup to take the place of the one retired last year.
The annual meeting is planned for late in March with the promise of a top-notch speaker from Hanover.
