Class of 1926
March 1938 Charles S. Bishop

A recent letter from A 1 Louer lists his organization for this year's Alumni Fund Campaign. We are pleased to submit herewith those worthy gentlemen who will help place 1926 high on the roll of honor again.

Metropolitan New York—Snipe Esquerre Upstate New York—Tubber Weymouth Massachusetts—Bob Salinger New England, except Mass.—Paul Allen Pennsylvania—Chappie Jones Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin—Perk St. Clair

Illinois—Carlie Blunt Pacific Coast—Bill Nigh New Jersey—Brant Wallace

A 1 also sends news of the arrival in Chicago on January 30 of Edwin Mandel Louer. Ellen and the young man are doing very nicely, and we extend out heartiest congratulations.

Freda and Whit Blair are the proud parents of Sandra Jean, who arrived on January 8. Congratulations!

Herb Darling, the big contracting tycoon from Cincinnati, now working on a big job in Buffalo, sends the following under date of January 10:

"If you hear any of the Hanoverites moaning for snow for Carnival, tell them to wire Buffalo and we'll gladly load out a few cars, having just been blessed with a blizzard with snow up to my chin in the driveway. Got out the skis and forthwith did a nose dive just as a reminder, I guess, that I never could use a pair.

"Tubber Weymouth dropped in to see us this past summer. We had supper together here at the house. Clark is getting on well in Rochester. While bidding on some work in Greece, N. Y., saw Fritz Lawson, with who I bent a few elbows. Fritz is a hair heavier, but the same proficient beer-drinker. He is all steamed up about his camp on Irondequoit Bay.

"Win Robinson came to Buffalo to see the Colgate-Tulane game. He called the house, and Bert and I went down town for a short talk. Win had to leave right away for Toronto. The A 8c P Cos. is still his guiding light. His three Canadian companions gave some interesting comments on our game of football as compared with Canadian style. Win looks fine. He is evidently happy in his job. We expect to pay the Robinsons a call in the near future.

"The Buffalo alumni had a luncheon at the University Club a week ago. Saw Connie Kurtz.

"We have completed a job here recently for General Motors and are now looking for some thing else. Things certainly have slowed down the past ninety days.

"We want to congratulate you and the good frau, Charlie, on the recent addition. Puts you one up on Wallace.

"We made a trip to Hanover this past June to visit Dan' and Sally Drury. It's getting to be a habit. We are making plans for the 15th already. What was the outcome of our chat about selecting a uniform to be worn each reunion instead of changing each time?

"It is possible that Bert and I will make a trip to New York in the spring. If so, we'll have a roundup.

"Say hello for us to any of the gang you may see.

"Bert joins me in sending our best to you and Edith.

"HERB DARLING."

Doug Everett has been elected president of the Dartmouth alumni club in Concord.

Tom Farwell has been busy this month serving as a judge of jumping in bigtime ski meets.

With the mounting popularity of Westerns, Charlie Starrett's fame and fortune in the movies is definitely on the increase. Charles is the star of a super-cowboy production that recently opened at the Capitol on Broadway.

Bill Campbell, professor of art at Wellesley, left again this month for another visit to the Near East, where he is directing important excavations.

According to a recent flash from Hollywood, Bus Heydt is breaking into the celluloid drama and has been cast in a first-line feature that is scheduled for early production.

Phil Benjamin and Ted Seely continue to be jointly responsible for much of the instruction in the department of English at Alleghany College.

Has any one heard from Bob Breyfogle? Our latest address indicates that he is still in Spain, but news of his whereabouts and his experiences in recent months would make good reading for this column.

Tom Colt announces an important exhibition of work by American artists at the Museum of Fine Arts, Richmond, Va.. where he is the head man.

Hugh Morrison, assistant professor of art on the faculty at Hanover, has recently acquired local fame in Vermont as an author and lecturer on the subject "Old Houses of Norwich."

Graham Ford is on the faculty of New York University and last year wrote a book entitled "Selling Radiator Heating to the Homeowner," published by Carr and Cos. He has also had an article published recently in Printer's Ink. Residents in New Hampshire Hall in the year 1922-23 will recall this distinguished gent and will be glad to hear of his exploits in academic and scholarly pursuits since leaving Hanover. Incidentally he is just as interested in Dartmouth affairs as though he had gone through college with the class.

He is located at 2 Wall St., New York City, whence he handles his institution's Eastern business in eighteen states.

Brant Wallace, Bob Cleary, yours truly, and our respective wives enjoyed a special treat early last month. Our honorary classmate Mr. Leslie Waggener was in New York from Saturday the sixth until Wednesday the ninth. It was our privilege and pleasure to see our charming brother from Dallas on two occasions during his visit and to enjoy several hours of interesting conversation. I regret that every member of our class did not have the same opportunity but would, however, like to convey to you Mr. Waggener's greetings and best wishes.
