THE GROUP ACTIVITIES of the St. Louis Club during the past month were limited to the Cornwell nuptials. The wedding was preceded by a bachelor "binge" in honor of the groom at the home of Hugh Logan '34. The ceremony itself was practically 100% Dartmouth. The bride, the former Ruth Louise Schmidt, is the sister of Clark Schmidt '33. The groom was none other than shoe clerk Franklin Jackes Cornwell '35. Genial Hugh Logan finished strong to nose out the bride's brother for the honor of being best man. Harry Deckert '35 and Max Waldsmith '33 as well as Clark Schmidt were numbered among the ushers. When the ceremony got under way at 8:30 Saturday evening, April 30th, at the First Presbyterian Church of University City, a full Dartmouth Club quorum was on hand. Most of the fellows seemed a trifle uneasy in church.

The wedding went off without a hitch, and the Cornwells left the following day for a two weeks' honeymoon at the swanky "Cloisters," Sea Island, Georgia.

The much heralded Spring Beer Picnic was held Sunday, May 15th. We hope to report in the next issue the detailed activities.

Boyd Rogers is planning to stage a one man reunion of the Class of 1935 in Hanover this June. He intends to accompany the '33 reuners from St. Louis on the trip to Hanover via Chicago, Montreal, Boston, and Northampton.

Bill and Harriet Rench are secondhoneymooning in New York. Bill better hurry back as we understand Hugh Logan

is muscleing in on his insurance business.

At this writing the Club has been notified of the acceptance of six applicants for admission to the Class of 1942. They are really an outstanding group of boys. We feel confident these boys will live up to the excellent records established by Pete Grace '33, Harry Deckert '35, Fred Hollingworth '3B and other St. Louisans who have won honors at Dartmouth in the past.

We were highly pleased to learn of the fine showing of St. Louis' Mike Gross '4l during spring football practice. It is reported Mike is one of the Freshmen who is expected to have a chance in breaking into a star studded varsity line-up next fall.

This being the last issue of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE until next fall we wish to take this opportunity to wish a pleasant vacation to all St. Louis Alumni and all St. Louisans at Dartmouth. Those of you who are graduating will be welcomed into the St. Louis Alumni Club. Don't forget the Saturday noon luncheons at the American Hotel which will be continued as usual during the summer months.

So long until October.
