Dean Ladd of the Berkeley Divinity School sends the following item: "John and Edward Ladd have graduated from Harvard magna cum laude, though both were under twenty years of age. John, the elder, is studying philosophy in the Graduate School at Harward, and Edward is teaching at the Thacher School, California. The two daughters, Penelope and Persis, are at St. Leonards (girls' boarding school), St. Andrews, Scotland."
From Mrs. W. O. Smith comes the following: "It was so good of you to come to Moodus for a call on us, and I know Will appreciated it. I enjoyed our talk at the school, and remember you wished me to write a little concerning Mr. Smith's children. Paul, Suzanne, and their sevenmonths-old son made us a visit at Thanksgiving time, and Will had the pleasure of holding his first grandchild, Mathew Ivan, who seems to look a great deal like his grandfather. Paul is still at Columbia University. Anna, who married Judge Sweeney, lives in Peterboro, N. H. Will spent three weeks with them just at the time of the hurricane. Willis, his oldest daughter, who married Francis Goddars, lives at Stonington, Conn., near enough so we see them often over week-ends."
