THE YULETIDE SEASON blew in from the northland transplanting an assortment of undergraduates to their homes and sparking the impetus for several meetings throughout the State.

The meetings in Hartford, Bridgeport and Stamford were programmed by two top-notch undergraduates—Jim Mathes '39, a member of Palaeopitus, and Bob Gibson '39, fresh from the football wars. On the occasion of each meeting, talk centered on the newly acquired desire on the part of undergraduates to cultivate closer relations between themselves and our alumni. Dartmouth football, 1938 version, came in for much discussion with emphasis on the Cornell and Stanford imbroglios. Movies of several games rounded out the season for Connecticut grid fans. Undergraduates and fathers were present in great numbers, with the inevitable result that much was accomplished in the way of a lively exchange of ideas.

A luncheon meeting was held in New Britain on Saturday the 31st which was probably a tune-up for the evening's festivities for the ushering in of baby 1939. The meeting adjourned to permit radio accounts of the fortunes of the New Britain High School championship team, coached by Charles ("Chic") Shea '29, in its postseason game with DuPont Manual of Louisville at Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

In addition to the goings-on hereinbefore mentioned, alumni throughout the State relinquished the holiday spirit for a sufficient length of time to interview many applicants for admission to the class of 1943.
