John Abbott represented '91 at the annual dinner of the Boston Alumni Association on February 2.

From "Pa" Edson comes the news that he has nothing to record and feels that the fact that his son Andrew is taking a graduate course at Harvard, sponsored by the U. S. State Department, is a matter for his own class to relate.

Heald writes: "At the present time everything is going very pleasantly. On September 24 I married a lady whom I knew in my boyhood days, a graduate of Grinnell College, lowa '92. I am still superintendent of schools." Welcome to the '91 sorority, Mrs. Heald!

Recently the Secretary had a delightful call on the Ladds at tea time in their home in New Haven. It seems that on December 5 there was a disastrous fire that caused the insurance companies a loss of $10,000, as Dean Ladd's valuable library, containing many first editions, was badly injured. Fortunately the family suffered no personal injury, although several firemen were injured in the blaze. Mrs. Ladd says that it is expected that Penelope will enter Radcliffe next fall. Dean Ladd is much concerned over the lack of unity in the Christian church, and in a recent address told an audience in Philadelphia, "If the Christians of the world want to fight totalitarianism effectively, they must unite in one Catholic church." Dr. Ladd explained that he used the word "Catholic" in the sense "all-embracing."
