Edward Monroe Nesmith's death was reported in last month's ALUMNI MAGAZINE. A little further information is now at hand. He entered college in 1875 with the class of '79, listed in the catalogue of that year as taking a "partial course." The next year he dropped back into the class of 'BO as a freshman, taking the full course, and continued with them through junior year. In 1880, instead of completing the course, he married and went to Nebraska and then to St. Joseph, Mo., engaging in the grocery business and acting as station agent for the Santa Fe R. R. Their son, Mark T., was born in St. Joseph.

About 1885 they returned to Massachusetts, first to Dorchester and then to Foxboro, where he was superintendent of a soap factory. He lived in Winthrop for nearly thirty years while traveling for the Dunham Manufacturing Cos. From 1918 he lived in Melrose, retiring from business about 1923.

Mrs. Nesmith died Sept. 12, 1928, and June 1, 1936, he married Olive Clark of Milford, N. H., who survives him. This was the last wedding in the class of '79.

Nesmith attended our fiftieth anniversary reunion, and since then has kept in close touch with the class through frequent letters and calls on classmates during his summer automobile trips. He has also been a regular contributor to the Alumni Fund. Both he and Chapman were counted upon to be among those present at our sixty-year reunion next June.
