Three of the 78 names of freshmen, and two of the 28 of the fourth class of the C.S.D., in the 1875-76 Dartmouth Catalogue, are still without the fatal asterisk. The oldest of the five, C. H. Smith, and the youngest, H. B. Closson, received their diplomas in 1879. J. H. Tebbetts was with the class two years and graduated from the Dartmouth Medical College in 1881. F. E. Carter and C. M. Darling, after two years in the C.S.D., left College.

Smith and his wife live very quietly in Proctor, Vt. He is somewhat deaf and quite lame. At last accounts Closson was still going to his law office several times a week and caring for a number of trusts, of which he has charge. Dr. and Mrs. Tebbetts still live in Hollister, Calif., where he practised medicine until a few years ago. Carter lives in Dorchester, Mass. He was with the Boston Elevated Railway for 32 years, retiring on a pension at the age of 70. He is the last of a family of 10. Darling resides in Lyndonville, Vt. He has been much interested in driving fast horses and is still out with them on pleasant days. His son, Alfred, joined the Army in January, and his daughter, Thelma, came home to help "carry on."
