In preparation for our Fiftieth next June the vacancy on our Executive Committee caused by the death of W. O. Smith has been filled by the remaining members through the selection of R. L. O'Brien who has accepted.

Edson is making his home with his daughter at 110 Elm Street, Talladega, Ala.

French who retired from the faculty of Worcester Polytechnic Institute in June, 1939 has been at his summer home in Sterling Junction, Mass.; in April he found it advisable to give up all activities for a while but when the Secretary saw him in August; he had made good progress in recovery.

The Baker Library sends word that Dean Ladd of the Berkeley Divinity School is the author of a brochure entitled "A Guide to Christian Living."

The Secretary during the summer has seen Cook, French, Gray, Heald, Lord, Quint, D. L. Smith, Wright, Woodcock: also Mrs. John Walker who lives in Newmarket, N. H., during the warmer season and in Sarasota, Florida, in the winter.
