It is sad to report the passing away of two members of Ninety-one. On June 13 SidneyG. Walker died in Honolulu, and on August 12 Evarts W. Pond died in Nantucket, Massachusetts.
Two short sketches of these men have been prepared for In Memoriam.
In July the secretary and Mrs. Rowe called on the French family in Worcester. Shorty has been seriously ill and is confined to his bed under the care of two nurses. He was cheerful and glad to see us.
In August the secretary and Mrs. Rowe were able to call on the Healds and the Grays. The Healds are happy in the retirement of Franklin following a long and successful career as a Superintendent of Schools. The Grays have just disposed of their charming summer house in Cape Elizabeth and will be missed, as the Rowes and the Grays were not too far apart in the summer to exchange calls each year.
On one trip from Winchester to the summer home at Bay View, Saco, Maine, we called on Mrs. Colby and her son and his wife in Danville, New Hampshire, and on Mrs. William Wright in Rochester, New Hampshire.
We also drove over to Limington, Maine, one afternoon to see Tommy Lord, but found the ancestral home closed.
