Group Plan In Effect
November 1940

WITH A PARTICIPATION of slightly better than 76% of all employees, group hospitalization for the College staff went into effect on October 1. At that time 638 of the 836 eligible employees had signed up for the insurance, with the possibility of still larger participation from those who have until November 1 to take advantage of the group plan without restriction.

The total number of persons covered by the plan, including wives, husbands and children of employees, is approximately 1400. Monthly premiums of f 1.00 for an individual or $2.00 for a family apply to faculty members, administrative officers, staff assistants and foremen, while for all other employees the individual monthly premium is 50 cents and the family premium is $ 1.00. This provides for a maximum of 70 days' hospitalization for each illness at the rate of $5.00 daily for the first group and $3.00 daily for the latter.
