WORD REACHED THE College last month that Dartmouth is among the colleges and universities throughout the country whose departments of chemistry have been accredited by the American Chemical Society as capable of preparing chemists qualified to hold positions in chemical industry. This approval was given to 65 in stitutions after a survey of several years covering some 450 colleges and universities. Additions are expected to be made to the accredited list as further reports are studied by the Society.

The survey report was made by the Committee on the Professional Training of Chemists of the American Chemical Society. Other New England institutions accredited to date include Amherst, Brown, Harvard, M. I. T., Tufts, New Hampshire, Wesleyan and Yale.
