ROBERT O. BLOOD '13m is Republican governor-elect of New Hampshire, state returns having given him 112,386 votes to 109,093 for his Democratic opponent. Hanover, Republican stronghold that was once his home town, did better for him than for the Presiiential candidate of his party, wih 003 votes out of 1,739 while Wendell Willkie garnered only 931.
Blood, who has practiced as a physician-surgeon in Concord, N. H., since just before the World War, has found time for many outside interests. He has been State Commander and National Vice-Commander of the American Legion. President of the Ayrshire Breeders' Association of New Hampshire, his farms on the outskirts of Concord make him understanding of the problems of farmers. Besides being an active member of the Farm Bureau, he has been president of the Concord Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Finnish Relief Fund, Inc., in New Hampshire, and has served in the House of Representatives and the State Senate, of which he was made president in 1938-
Two sons of New Hampshire's governor-elect are now attending Dartmouth, Robert O. Blood Jr. '42 and Horace S. Blood '44.
