Our notes this month must be brief. (As I write this I seem to feel the editor giving me a pat on the back!) This is not because our men are hibernating, even though half of us are now "retired," but because we have been fortunate in escaping accidents and other unpleasant incidents which make news. We have entered the New Year in reasonably good health and with as much optimism as conditions at home and abroad warrant. During the past month I have heard from 50% of the men. Every communication is appreciated and perhaps during the current month some of the other half will write.
