SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 4, is the date set for our Annual Winter Carnival on the Club's property in Groton. We have widened and lengthened our private slope beyond the cabin so the slalom and downhill races for men, women, and children will be bigger and better than ever. A treasure hunt on skis will be an added attraction this year. After the crowning of the queen, the festivities of the day will end in the Cabin with refreshments and general good cheer. A brand new stove installed by proceeds from the raffle of 50-yard line seats for last fall's Harvard game will warm you after" your day in the open.
Plans are already underway for our "intown dance" in Boston late in March. What the date will be, where it will be, and how we shall dress are questions still left to be decided. Some favor a dance-North Country style—like the ones we used to attend at Queechee in our undergraduate days.
All members are urged to take advantage of the skiing facilities of Gay's Hill in Groton, popularly known as "Brown Loaf." This hill offers the best downhill running of any within an hour's drive of Boston. Skiing on "Brown Loaf" is free to Club members upon presentation of the badge of the D. O. C. of Boston which may be secured from Morris Jones, 452 Park Drive, Boston. With the present fall of snow as a base, and more snows coming, we are anticipating a banner year for skiing and winter use of the cabin.
