Darling is '79's champion sport, even if he is more than half way through his eighty-fourth year. He has long been president of the Lyndonville Driving Club. He and his Nina Dillon are familiar figures in both the summer and winter meetings of the Club. When not training for or running races they are busy with farm work. In 1933 he wrote, She knows theracing game quite well, and can pull a cultivator in the potato patch as well. This last summer he raised 150 bushels of carrots for which another of his fast horses did the cultivating. Though with us but one year, Darling was inoculated with the true Dartmouth spirit of loyalty and readiness to help.
