Bodwell, E. J.—Well Bod stood the excitement of another birthday in fine shape and does not feel his age in spite of the 115 good wishes for more of the same. If he was not glad to have such an avalanche of letters from '88, the Secretary was glad for him. Yes '88 is a good bunch if I do say it.
Dunlap, Fred T. of St. Petersburg, Fla. —Fred seems to have stood the frigid climate of Florida in wonderful shape as did a number of men of our time. He writes a cheerful letter chock full of news about Dartmouth men in Florida but only a little about the weather and the flowers which tradition says are as abundant in that state as dandelions in June hereabouts. Dunlap and Spencer huddled much having as a windshield such experienced men as Henry Austin '85, Kelly and Wardwell 'B6, Vic Safford, Hardy and Wood 'go, Herbert Gage, Stanley Johnson and Emerson Rice of '87. But the whole story was given in a clipping from the St. Petersburg Times which Fred sent to this office.
The Dartmouth Club of Florida (or was it St. Petersburg) had their winter meeting on Feb. 23, most of whom are of the vintage of the last century and hence old enough to be known by us; 60 strong were recorded present. In short if one can stand cold weather, Florida is the place to go during our winters.
Williams, Wendell—We all hate to be dispensers of Bad News, but I must quote from Wendell's letter of Feb. 11 (he is much better now). Speaking of Pattee's New Year's message to the class quote—"I read the letter at the office, was feeling fine, laid it aside, went home and to bed. Next morning house was full of nurses and doctors and for 4 weeks thought Pattee's delight in old age was a myth. He can sing that song if he wants to but need not expect me to join him."
