THE CLARK POND tract owned by Dartmouth College in Canaan, N. H., has been leased to Louis T. Wallis '05 of Cambridge, Mass., for a boys' summer camp, it was announced on March 12 by Halsey C. Edgerton 'O6, treasurer of the College.. Mr. Wallis, who is now associated with the Manter Hall School in Cambridge, will transfer to Clark Pond his Camp Mishe Mokwa for Younger Boys, which he has conducted since 1913 on Treasure Island, Lake Winnepesaukee. He expects to use the new site this coming season.
The Clark Pond tract, on the eastern shore of the Pond, is part of the 700 acres of woodland in Canaan and Dorchester which Theodore C. Haffenreffer of Jamaica Plain, Mass., gave to Dartmouth College last summer. This additional gift was made shortly after Mr. Haffenreffer had given Dartmouth his summer estate at Canaan Street, N. H. The latter includes 130 acres of land and a 28-room house on Canaan Street Lake, and was used last summer for the field work of Thayer School students.
Dartmouth men who have never seen Hanover Plain from the air will get an excellent idea of the sight from this aerial viewtaken by Adrian Bouchard, staff photographer for the College.
