THE DARTMOUTH CLUB of Wellesley, Mass. held its annual dinner the evening of March 4 with 55 present. Featured speakers were S. C. Hayward '26, secretary of the College; "Whit" Miller '40, captain of last season's football team; and Roy Merchant Jr. '40, vice president of the senior class. Motion pictures of the Dartmouth-Yale game were shown; Richard Nichols '26, retiring president of the club, served as toastmaster at the dinner, held at the Wellesley Country Club.
Officers of the club for the coming year were chosen as follows: Alex J. Jardine '16, president; Donald E. Wilbur '24, treasurer; and Allan C. Gottschaldt '18 was re-elected secretary. The executive committee will consist of R. M. Nichols '26, Francis Ryder '30, and Richard D. Muzzy '35. Chosen to head the scholarship fund—a movement that enlists the interest and support of the entire club—was A. A. Adams Jr. '24. James D. Gregg '14 will be chairman of the committee on cooperation with prospective Dartmouth students; the other members of this committee being Murray Harvey '20 and C. F. Tower '24.
Despite the attendant sleet storm, one of the worst in years in the Wellesley area, the meeting was a huge success and "Sid" Hayward's message was proclaimed of unusual interest. Plans were made for the club's second annual outdoor picnic, with wives to be present, sometime during May.
