THE INTRAMURAL DEPARTMENT has conducted an unusually diversified athletic schedule during the past winter season. Much interest has been shown in competing for the coveted basketball and hockey trophies, with Delta Kappa Epsilon triumphing over Kappa Kappa Kappa, touch football champs of last fall, in basketball, and Phi Gamma Delta winning an easy victory in hockey for their second consecutive title in that sport.
With thirteen teams entered in the fraternity boxing tourney, Delta Kappa Epsilon took honors with champs in two classes. Not to be outdone, Zeta Psi produced two champions in the wrestling tourney to take that crown. No less enthusiasm was shown in dormitory boxing and wrestling. Lord Hall chalked up fourteen points to win in boxing, and South Mass nosed out Gile for the wrestling championship. The favorite of the Collegee open boxing tournament was 280- pound Don Schott '40, who won the heavyweight title and became Dartmouth's representative in the intercollegiate bouts at Springfield.
Having finished up three of the series of four duplicate bridge tournaments, Sigma Chi is winning with a first, a second and a fourth in the first three tournaments. The 17 teams entered will end the last tournament in the near future.
In a somewhat slushy atmosphere, the fraternities broke all participation records in the skiing races, which were conducted by the D.O.C. Delta Kappa Epsilon captured another title in this competition by taking first place in the downhill and langlauf races.
In total points to date, the fraternities now stand as follows:
Delta Kappa Epsilon 123.3 Kappa Kappa Kappa 114.8 Phi Gamma Delta 104.
