The Dartmouth Defense Group, associa ted with similar committees in other colleges, has steadily progressed toward effective mobilization of the College community in recent weeks. Its activities have constantly broadened and now include participation by undergraduates, under Palaeopitus direction, in some phases of the defense work. Recently, in reply to questions about where the committee stands on major issues, the following resolution was adopted: "The United States should take whatever action is necessary to prevent the Axis Powers from winning the war."
