IT HAS BEEN a quiet summer, with the mood of the Club affected by the mood of the weather.
We have been enlivened on a number of Tuesdays by the usual bridge violence culminating in the challenge of Don Rogers and Bud King to defeat anyone. (As a team they still remain undefeated.)
We are unfortunate in losing one of our newer recruits, Reg Bankart, class of '35, who had been extremely active since he moved here from Boston, and who has now returned to his former home.
Additional bad news was just received that Erney Heidler, class of '35, is about to be transferred to Cleveland. A number of the younger boys, of course, in addition, are in various branches of the Service.
In the offing, we look forward with pleasure to visiting Hugh Kenworthy, class of 1911, at the Coatesville Country Club for Golf, followed by food, etc. at his home. This is an annual party which has always been a highlight in hospitality for this district.
Now that football weather is about to begin, I am certain that the usual pros and cons will be aired again, so here's to seeing you at lunch on Tuesdays at the Dartmouth Club.
