THE ESTABLISHMENT of a second Illinois Regional Scholarship by the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Chicago was announced by President Hopkins last month following the receipt of an executive committee vote from William F. Juergens '23, president of the Chicago alumni organization. The second scholarship, simlar to the $600 award which started in
1935» become effective in September, 1942, and will be granted on the same merit basis as the first.
Under the new plan adopted by the Chicago Association, an Illinois Regional Scholarship will be awarded every other year, to be continued through the four years of college. In addition to its annual contributions of $1200.00 for the two Illinois regionals, the Chicago Association plans to continue its yearly additions to an endowment fund which will permit the permanent establishment of the scholarships.
