Macmillan and Company have just published a revised edition of Electricity andMagnetism—Theory and Application, by Pro- fessor Norman E. Gilbert. The author in his preface states that this second edition follows the outline of the first edition, although a large part of the text has been rewritten. Among changes in the book is the addition of a new chapter on the theory of dielectrics and electric induction. Other chapters have been completely rewritten and brought up-to-date. Many of the problems are new. The first edition of Dr. Gilbert's book has been used as a text for nine years. This new, revised edition will undoubtedly fill a definite need.
Dr. Hermann M. Burian is the author of an article entitled Fusional Movements in Permanent Strabismus, which appeared in the October issue of the Archives of Ophthalmology.
