HANOVER ONLY FIVE MONTHS AWAY
The American Bar Association has recently announced the membership of the committee on commerce, which studies existing and proposed laws relating to interstate and foreign commerce. One of the members is Thurlow M. Gordon.
A note from Eric Kelly states that Elon Pratt, whose wife, Mirabel, gave the famous jade collection to Dartmouth, has recently sent the College some mighty good Dartmouthiana, consisting of circulars and newspaper clippings. Among them was an old Delta Alpha poster, which is in demand among feature writers, who dig up stories of old time hazing every year. There was also an original Junior Honor list and a first edition gem in his poster of Cap Kelly's "FRESHMAN." And by the way if anyone has a copy of the play itself Eric says the College would be mighty glad to get it.
Alan A. Beetle '36, son of our Ralph, was married on September 12 th to Miss Dorothy Erna Schoof of Verona, N. J., at Berkeley, Calif.
A note from Bob Blood advises that at the Book Fair recently held in Manchester, one of the main attractions was our talented Professor Eric Kelly. His addresses to the assembled multitudes were the outstanding features of the show. I understand that he wore out three fountain pens autographing his latest book.
While in Manchester Eric and Bob went to visit Ralph Fitts who is seriously ill in the Sacred Heart Hospital as the result of a fall.
John F. Page, Bill's youngest boy, was married on November 28th to Miss Ellen H. Smith at Camp Hill, Penn.
Mr. and Mrs. Maynor Brock have announced the marriage of their daughter, Mary Powell, to Roy Ray Still Jr., which took place in Kansas City on October 23rd, 1940.
The Boston Herald recently carried the announcement of the appointment of Walter Powers Jr. as assistant executive undergraduate manager to the Dartmouth College Athletic Council. Like father, like son.
A recent letter from Bob Richardson gives his address as Sewell, Chile, c/o Braden Copper Co. He says that he hasn't been able to follow the football team very well this fall as the American broadcasts are so uncertain and so unsatisfactory.
