SPECIAL RECOGNITION OF THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY of President Hopkins' administration of the College will be the central theme of the annual Alumni Fund drive which begins later this month and which will be known this year as the Hopkins 25th Anniversary Campaign of the Dartmouth College Alumni Fund on the Tucker Foundation. The plan now, which awaits approval of the Alumni Council, is for the entire total received to be turned over by the Alumni Council to President Hopkins for such use or uses as he feels most important to the College at this time. The Alumni Fund Committee of the Council has expressed its confidence that with favorable conditions plus the special impetus of the Anniversary Campaign the Fund will outdistance all its previous accomplishments.

In order to provide for special anniversary gifts in addition to normal contributions, the committee will depart from its usual no-pledge practice and suggest to the alumni the option of pledging supplementary gifts with payments to be completed by November i.

A special committee of the Alumni Council will invite friends of the College outside the alumni body to join with Dartmouth men in this 25th Anniversary recognition of President Hopkins' accomplishments as an educator.

With the class agents aiming simply toward the utmost achievable results for this year, no specific objective or quota will be set for the Anniversary Campaign. The criterion of success of the individual class will be the extent to which it exceeds this year its achievement of 1940; and the class standings and Green Derby competitions will be calculated on the basis of the 1940 schedule of class objectives.
