GREETINGS TWOTERS:

The Alumni Fund drive is under way.It is hardly necessary to comment in thesecolumns as to its background, meaning, and the success of the annual campaigns. This year, complementing Prexy Hopkins'25th year as President, the Fund will havea special meaning for us all. Under theextremely able and energetic leadershipof Bob Booth as Class Agent, the record of1922 has been increasingly good and lastyear, as you know, we almost hit the 100%button. The class column in last month'sissue of the MAGAZINE listed all contributors and the percentages of subscribers andthe amount contributed. Look at it againand resolve that you individually will makeyourself responsible for the addition of aname that did not appear last year and, wherever possible, make yourself a pledgethat your contribution will exceed that oflast spring. With one accord, let's boost1922 to the 100% bracket!

In spite of being almost a year late, I hope the Harry Bruckners will accept the congratulations of the class on the birth of Barbara Anne June 27th last year.

A note from Johnny Johnson, who is with U. S. Rubber Cos. in New York, speaks of his occasional visits with Charley Earle and Ozz Holland.

Ralph Totman is making his summer plans to go to Alstead, N. H., where he spends the summer months before resuming his teaching at Brookline (Mass.) High School.

Don't forget your contribution to theAlumni Fund.

Bob and Grace Clark lead an active life in Hawleyville, Conn, with their two boys, Alex, 7 and Bob Jr., 3. They are interested in the local dramatics group and a "must" on their schedule is attendance at Hanover Holiday in June.

Word has come from Lansing (Brissie) Brisbin that he has moved from Ashland, Ky., to Huntington, W. Va., having secured the Nehi Cos. franchise for that area and is establishing a bottling plant there. Good luck!

A newsy recent letter from Hal Burnham speaks of his activities around Boston and the Newtons and his contacts with Ced porter, Gray Bates and Johnny Weare. Hal and Mildred have two youngsters, John almost 6 and Nancy, Hal commutes to Boston every day to the office of the McKenzie Engraving Cos., manufacturers of greeting cards. There's a tip for Herm Oliver of Buffalo and his lithographing business.

Larry Snow, our mining engineer in Mexico, has recently changed his address to 1002 Libertad, Chihuahua City, Chihuahua, Mexico. When are you going to answer my two letters, Larry?

During one of your secretary's frequent business trips, he had the pleasure of spending a little time with Rex and Helen Malmquist in Norwalk, Conn., and later in March had dinner with Wallace Montcastle in Cleveland. Monty is the capable secretary of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Cleveland and was in the midst of plans for its annual scholarship fund dance. He has recently sold his map business and is about to make another interesting connection. Unfortunately, I did not have the time to meet Grace or Wallace 15, and daughter Margherita 13, but will look forward to that pleasure the next time I am in Cleveland.

Don't forget your Alumni Fund contribution.

At a recent Dartmouth Glee Club concert and dance in Reading, Pa., Shep and Effie Naylor were among those who enjoyed the excellent show. Shep is associated with the Armstrong Cork Cos. of Lancaster.

Johnny Weare was good enough to write me recently in answer to my request for further identification to say that he is associated with the Cambridge Rubber Cos. of Cambridge, Mass., as sales manager, and at present is living at 816 Ridgeleigh Road, Baltimore. Johnny's move to Baltimore followed a year's stay in Boston, which was preceded by 12 years in Chicago for the same company. There are three little Weares, Johnny 13, Mason 11, and Carolyn 9.

Bob Booth is the nominee from the New England area, District 1, for the Alumni Council. The Class of 1922 expects every New England Twoter to do his duty!

We had hoped to have some preliminary comments regarding our 20th reunion in June of 1942. Don't take the absence of Carter Hoyt's comments as an indication that nothing is being done. The major reason that there has been no current announcement is because of the change in reunion dates being initiated next month and accordingly we are not positive whether our own reunion a year from now, will take place at the usual time over the Commencement week-end or whether it will be during the week following. Carter tells me that he is in the process of forming his committee which will be announced early next fall and from then on you may all expect to receive monthly dope on the progress of plans and specifications.

Don't forget your contribution to theAlumni Fund.

See you next month. Herb West, it's all yours. . . .

Do You REMEMBER WHEN?

J. P. Carleton and R. R. Larmon won the New England Intercollegiate doubles championship in May, 1919?

On October 4, 1919 the condition of President Woodrow Wilson was reported as serious?

W. H. Kopf of New Britain, Connecticut, was elected President of the class of 1922?

Work began on the 5150,000 Spaulding Pool?

The game when Dartmouth defeated Penn State 19-13, after Charlie "Gang" Way had run the length of the field twice for touchdowns?

Dartmouth Night was celebrated on October 17th, this being the 150 th anniversary of the founding of the college, and the speakers were E. M. Hopkins '01, Matt Jones '94, and Samuel Powers '94?

Cornell relied on Shiverick but nevertheless Dartmouth defeated Cornell 9-0 partly owing to the stellar play of one "Swede" Youngstrom?

John Spaghett used to come to town? Coach Zahn kept Davidson, Kopf, McDermott, George Moore, Bill Streng, and Cliff Watson on the basketball squad?

The extremely rough Dartmouth-Pennsylvania game when seven regulars were crippled and we won 20-19?

That this was the fall when Dartmouth hoped for a championship Eastern team in football but that when the shooting was over we shared the honors with Penn State, Syracuse, and Colgate?
