GREETINGS TWOTERS:

Well, here we are again and it is my pleasure and privilege to pass on to you, through these columns, matters of interest regarding every member of 1923 that I see or hear about, directly or indirectly.

During recent months, interesting facets of news have reached my desk and so here goes for the first installment of the new year:

Pat Tobin, within recent months, has left the Hartford, Conn., store of Stieger's to become president of O'Neill & Cos., Inc., outstanding Baltimore retail establishment. Pat's new home address is 237 Lambeth Road. Harold Hastings, secretary of Baltimore D Club, please note!

I am very anxious to keep in touch with Twoters entering the Armed Forces. The August issue of the MAGAZINE listed the men of whom the Alumni Records office knew, but nowadays with events happening so quickly it is hard to keep abreast of these changes without your help. Please drop me a line so that the college may maintain its contact with you and class information may continue to reach you.

Gaylord Anderson has been granted leave of absence for the duration from the University of Minnesota and has entered the Army as a major in the Medical Corps. His first assignment is in the Surgeon General's office.

Dick Stetson is also a major in the Medical Corps, and Norm Crane has entered the Army as captain in the same corps.

John Carlton has received his captain's commission as Combat Intelligence Officer in the Air Forces and has reported to a southern station.

Russ Putney is an Army lieutenant and has recently been transferred from a Texas to a Wisconsin Army post. Andy Heath was kind enough to send me clippings "from a Keene, N. H., paper and with great interest I have read Russ' long and interesting letters of his experiences.

I have had some good newsy letters from Len Morrissey, H. West, and Tony Hanlon. The former reporting on the state of things in Boston and the latter says that he is starting a campaign for the Office of Register of Probate for Berkshire County (Mass.). A newspaper article from Adams tells more about Tony's activities as treasurer of the Adams Cooperative Bank, Special Justice of the District Court, and Chairman of Draft Board No. 1. Good luck in your campaign!

Do any of you have any pictures taken at reunion time that can be used for reproduction in these columns? If so, please send to me the glossy prints and I will see that they are returned to you promptly, in good condition. We are indebted to Bob Baldwin for the pictures in the last issue and those below.

The "Jedge" and Blackie Hall proudly announce the arrival of Nancy Caroline on June 19th, weight 81/2 pounds. Red—how's your stock of popple?

Bill Angell has very recently been commissioned as lieutenant commander in the U. S. Naval Reserve. He reported to a naval hospital in New England on August 31st.

Evan (Woody) Woodworth died this last summer while serving as captain in the Army Air Corps. The sympathy of the entire class goes to his widow and children. Further notes will be found in the necrology section.

The new connection of Bruce Cunningham is with the Research Products Cos., 7 E. 42nd Street, New York City. His home address is 16 Holland Road, South Orange, N. J.

Carl Davis has become associated with Joseph Home Cos., Pittsburgh department store.

Donald Spaulding, formerly of Verona, N. J., and Baltimore, where he was associated with the Glen Falls Insurance Cos., has made his new headquarters at 1924 Martel Avenue, Plainfield, N. J.

The last reports I have on Bill Man show that he is regional director for the U. S. Social Security Board in Boston and with Betty and Bill Jr., lives on Lake Avenue in Newton Center.

Francis McMahon is now in Suite 430 at 10 Post Office Square, Boston, having come there from Minneapolis where he was associated with Aetna Life Insurance Company. I would like to hear from you first-hand, Mac. Porter, Dwight, Colin at alplease go and get reacquainted.

A delightful week in early August was spent by your Secretary, Charlotte and Donald, with Carroll and Nan Dwight at their charming summer home on Lake Sunapee, N. H. We saw Haskell and Harriet Cohn who were spending their holiday at the lake.

I had the good fortune of seeing Carter and Allie Hoyt this summer in Boston. Recently visited with Kip Orr in his editorial office at "The New Yorker" and later had lunch with Charlie Earle and heard all about his new association with the Franklin Savings Bank, Bth Avenue and 34th Street, New York City. Charlie heads up the service department, new business and advertising divisions. He and Peg and the youngsters are living at 428 Pelhamdale Ave., Pelham Manor, N. Y.

INFORMATION PLEASE

A few weeks ago you received a letter from me enclosing an information sheet. Replies have been coming in fairly well so far but I want to personally request that each one of you fill out the sheet as completely as possible with particular reference to your home and business addresses, as your cooperation will be of tremendous help in the preparation of a class address booklet that will be in your hands later this fall, and also increase the reservoir of news on which this column depends. Tell me whether you would prefer to have the names listed in strict alphabetical fashion or listed geographically by states and cities and towns?

See you next month.
