1942 Grid Captain

For the first time in four seasons the Dartmouth lettermen recently unanimously elected a backfield man to captain the 1942 Big Green eleven. He is right halfback Edward (Bud) Kast of Pearl River, N. Y.

Kast, a veteran of two seasons and a regular since the third Saturday of his sophomore campaign, weighs 180 pounds and is 5 feet 11 inches tall.

He reported to varsity football two years ago almost an unknown gridster after a freshman season in which he made his numerals as a reserve back. Since his debut, however, he has started every game with one exception, it being the Georgia contest of last fall when he was too badly injured to see service more than one play in the fourth quarter.
