November 1942 G. WARREN FRENCH, CHARLES RAYMOND

Charlie Raymond rates a great big assist for sending along a stack of notes this month, collected with the first batch of checks from prompt dues-paying classmates As a quid pro quo we are glad to put in a plug for our treasurer's dues cam- paign and insert here a gentle reminder to you delinquents who have not paid the class dues. Do it now (no pun intended), and save your treasury some extra postage bills.

One wedding, seven births, several civil- ian and plenty of military and naval items feature the November bill of fare.

Miss Loyola Claire Weeks of Springfield, Mass., became the bride of Lieut, (jg) John P. Keating at St. Mary's Church, New London, September 7th. Father Collins, chaplain of the Submarine Base, officiated. Mrs. Keating was graduated from Mary- mount College at Tarrytown, N. Y.

As proof for the belief that wars result in a greater number of male births, six of our blessed events in this month's column are likely candidates for the class of 1964. In their order of arrival, we herald the births of: Calvin Lee Christman, July 12; Linda Ann Sprankle, July 20; Barry Sher- wood Shultz, Sept. 8; William Milne Jr., Sept. 20; Robert Gardiner Hartmann, Sept. 23; Donald Wadsworth Hight, Sept. 26; and Brian McDonald Hayes, Sept. 30. To avoid any confusion of Hayes', the daddy of Brian is Lieut. Art Hayes.

Last month we mentioned Bob Bot- tome's wedding, and Charlie Widmayer's News Service has supplied the information we lacked at that time. His bride was Mrs. Margot Boulton de Roditi, daughter of Senora Catalina Pietre de Boulton and the late John Boulton, of Caracas. The wed- ding took place on July 20 in Miami.

No doubt Nelson Rockefeller took a lit- tle time to inspect the hotel in Caracas that Bob has been building for him, dur- ing his recent tour of Latin American countries. Which reminds us that Vic Bor- ella is on a leave of absence from Rocke- feller Center for the duration to occupy a similar position as personnel director in the Office of the Coordinator of Inter- American Affairs.

Fred Bowes resigned as manager of ad- vertising and publicity for the Pitney- Bowes Postage Meter Company to join the executive staff of the New England re- gional office of the War Production Board at Boston. Fred's title is Information As- sistant to the Regional Director, and as such is also under the Office of War Infor- mation.

Private Dud Ferguson writes from Sheppard Field, Texas, "Am now going to air mechanics school. Why the army decided that ten years' ex- perience in the insurance business should qualify me for technical school is a question I can't answer, but here I am—about half way through. Sheppard Field is just out of Wichita Falls and is one place in the world where you can stand up to your butt in mud and have dust blown in your eyes."

Jack Fitzpatrick has been in the army air corps since May,, and has a 2nd Lieu- tenant's commission. He is an assistant in- telligence officer at Headquarters, Boston Defense Wing. Priscilla Doran says that Bill is a captain in the army medical corps and is temporarily at Camp Robin- son in Arkansas. Captain Don Shaskan is at the Station Hospital, Army air base, Mac Dill Field, Tampa. Lieut. Bob Kohn is an assistant supply officer at the San Bernadino army air corps depot.

No doubt you readers of the BostonSunday Herald saw Ensign Si Chandler's smiling face pictured October 4th as he conducted his class in seamanship at the indoctrination school at Harvard. Lieu- tenant (jg) Ed Schuster regretted that he was not sent to Hanover for his indoctri- nation, but A 1 Dickerson reports that he ran into Bill Keller in front of Tanzi's one evening, and that Bill had been there two weeks without finding an opportunity even to call him on the telephone. Loren Heron was commissioned a Lieutenant (sg) A.V.S. on August 6th, and he reports to the Naval Air Station at Quonset Point October 20th. We heard that Pat Weaver was commis- sioned as a Lieutenant (jg) but little is known about him beyond the fact that he was in Pasadena last August for a vacation and family reunion.

Bill Brown went from his two months' course in Boston to the sub-chaser training center at Miami. Bill wrote that Dent Car- men is in his group and that Johnny Kountz finished his training there and is now executive officer on a 110-foot chaser.

Snub Poehler reports that he and Bill Bragner spent the summer together as co- program directors of a junior boys' camp connected with the Y.M.C.A. of the Oranges, and that their families were with them, making it a marvelous summer.

A long-lost voice is that of Dr. Clarence "Mike" Fraser, who has at last been lo- cated in Washington, where he is associ- ated with Dr. Howard F. Kane in obstetrics and gynecology.
