Ken Hill of Boston has taken the big step and has formed the firm of Alcock, Hill and Cos., with offices at 80 Federal Street. He is specializing in municipal securities and can furnish most anything from the mortgage on the sewer of a Model T Maine town right through to the best of seasoned big town bonds.
Bill Sleigh of Boston and Bob Canfield of New York are working on a big legal case together. Bob practically lives in a plane, having flown from New York to Chicago three times in one week.
Bill Russell has been a sick man and required blood transfusions. He is up around again now and back on his job at Charles L. Richardson Company near the South Station in Boston.
Beany Statzel is kept busy with his four children and his business. As special representative of Johns-Manville in the home insulation field his territory includes Pennsylvania, south Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and Virginia. He has recently seen Karl Friedman who is teaching at Girard College, Lou Goas, who is teaching at Upper Darby High School, and Bill Pugh.
Most everybody reports that they are air raid wardening and taking the standard Red Cross First Aid course.
The Bill Sleighs recently had a real '25 dinner with Bill Thompson, Nate Bugbee, Bill Briffin, Lou Kimball and Lang Spring, plus their wives, in attendance. Lou showed with his six bottles of Coca-Cola, being very very distinctly on the wagon.
Lang Spring is burning the candle at both ends and in the middle on defense work with Holzer-Cabot.
Bill Griffin is doing a similar act with his own company out in South Boston.
Brad Goodman surrendered his personal liberty to Natalie Young as of May, 1941. They have built themselves a home in Great Neck, Long Island to their own specifications. The house is finished and ready for visitors.
Tige Lyon is heading the WaukeganNorth Chicago Building Corporation. The outfit is building 400 defense homes in that area to retail at $4,650 each. An A-10 rating has been secured for the first 20 homes.
They aint much new happened in our town sence the last writing. I hev got the town black out switch in frunt of my awfice and when we had a dress rehearsal for an air raid I pulled the switch. The town was awl blacked out except for wun advertising sign which we put out without no trouble at all.
We had an elk hunt here in New Hampshire and your humble correspondent kissed wun through the heart at 175 yards, a very very pretty shot, thank you for asking. The elk run a quarter of a mile up a mountain and then passed out. An agile young reptile cut in frunt and put his tag on your Secretary's animile. I would of shot him, but he was a Republican and we can't afford to lose no Republican votes in these parts. Bob Sawyer, ex-'25 our county Clerk of Court, smashed the confistercated slot machines the other day and got over nine hundred bux for the County. Bob is mean and didn't save a machine for me.
