Dear Classmates: I received an interesting update on activities of Charles Tseckares . He has a major project as a principal with CBT, the Boston architectural firm, designing a new, mixed-use development in Bermuda. It will include townhouses, a marina, and a 13 0,000-square-foot office building and will be completed next year. I expect Charles will be sending out invitations for us all to come visit and admire his work. Charles has also been named a member of the board of the Massachusetts chapter of the Fulbright Association which, of course, sponsors international exchanges and seeks to achieve "a more rational, humane, and civilized regime in international affairs."

Dave Cook has some good news. He is engaged to Celeste Hartwell. Some of us had the pleasure of meeting Celeste last fall at Homecoming and at other class events and certainly the class welcomes her.

Walter Burgin has indicated that he will resign as headmaster of Mercersburg Academy at the end of the school year. He has held the post for 25 years. Walter's relationship with the academy started in 1949 as a student; he graduated as valedictorian in '53; taught there for several years, and says "I have had the uncommon privilege of being able to give back in the same place from which I took so much. I have lived more than half of my life in this place. It's hard to imagine being anywhere else." Walter says that after leaving Mercersburg he plans to return to the classroom at another school and focus on teaching, which he still loves after all these years.

Our classmate Christian Weber died in February. Chris had had the opportunity to pursue his personal interest in boating after selling the family oil business in Camden, N.J., several years ago. Many classmates will remember Chris for his exceptional work with The Dartmouth, which he served all four years at Dartmouth, rising to be executive editor. Chris leaves his wife Joan and three adult children.

With the Olympics nearly upon us, it makes me think of our own Olympian, Chick Igaya.

Chick remains very active in skiing and at last report, was Asian representative of the F.I.S., Federation International du Ski. Chick has also been the longtime president of the Dartmouth Club of Tokyo and is active with the International Olympic Committee.
