Watson and Mrs. Watson are spending the winter in Cass' house in Manchester, Mrs. Cass having gone to California. Watson is well, but Mrs. Watson is at present confined to a wheel-chair due to arthritis in the knee joints, though otherwise well and in good spirits.

Morrill is heading the war-chest drive in Cincinnati. He is also on La Guardia's defense council.

Drew is back at his home in Maiden after his long hospital experience. He is doing nicely.

The Battle of Navarino, which gave freedom to Greece and which has been accounted one of the decisive battles of the world, was begun by the frigate Dartmouth opening "a defensive fire."

Clothespin was the author of an interesting collection of poems containing visions of the future which later became facts. To his anthology might be added the concept of the nature loving Japanese, CHOMEI:

"In summer the hototogisu is heard, whoby his reiterated cry invites to a tryst withhim on that rugged path which leads toHades."
