ALTERATIONS AND MODERNIZING THE INN have resulted in notable improvements in recent years that appeal to the eye and comfort of visitors. At the top is a view from the Inn porch across the campus and a typical room, with the insert showing Bill Sweeny '43, one of many student employees. At right center, are "before and after" pictures—Ford and Peggy Sayre '33 cooking at the Moosilauke Ravine Camp (before their call to the Hanover Inn) when they turned an abandoned lumber camp into a gay and comfortable headquarters for skiers and hikers on Dartmouth's mountain; an afternoon tea scene in the Inn lobby with Peggy Sayre and Adele Ives (assistant to the managers); at right Ford Sayre helps a ski school student in an obstacle race. At the bottom are views of the Inn's lobby and parlor at the turn of the century (the 20th century).
