Council Elections
April 1942

THE SECRETARY OF THE General Association of Alumni, Sidney C. Hayward '26, announces the results of nominations for filling vacancies on the Alumni Council at the expiration of several terms of office on June 30, 1942, and also for the new Southwestern District VI. The changes in redistricting were described in full in the ALUMNI MAGAZINE for May, 1941, and consist of reallocation of several western and southwestern, states within a new, seventh Council district of the country.

Three men were named from the Southwestern District VI when nominations closed on March 10. They are: John W. Bates '10 of Tulsa, Daniel S. Dinsmoor '16 of St. Louis, and Dwight J. Edson '18 of Houston.

Nominees of the alumni clubs and associations in other districts are not opposed for election to their first terms. They are therefore declared elected to the Alumni Council for first terms of two years each beginning in June. These new members are:

District I: Arthur T. Soule '08 of Boston to succeed Edward K. Robinson '04.

District II: Nathan K. Parker '26 of Pittsburgh to succeed Karl R. Maerker '10.

o District III: J. William Embree Jr. '21 of Chicago, reelected.

District IV: Clifford A. Randall '27 of Milwaukee to succeed Thomas B. Curtis '32.

District V: F. Jordan McCarthy '26 of Baltimore to succeed Charles G. Milham '06.

District VII: Fred C. Shaneman '24 of Tacoma to succeed E. Patrick Kelly '09, and H. A. DesMarais '26 of San Francisco.

Brief biographies of the above nominees for first terms on the Council will be published in early issues of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE.
