Fraternity Adviser

C. DEAN CHAMBERLIN '26, Instructor in English and Associate in Personnel, assumed the additional duties of College Adviser to Fraternities early in March. This post had remained vacant since Davis Jackson '36 left last year for active duty with the Navy. When Mr. Chamberlin rejoined the Dartmouth staff last fall it was with the understanding that he would be responsible for fraternity guidance, but this work has been held in abeyance until the present time. Reestablishment of a liaison officer between the College administration and the fraternities was announced by President Hopkins at a time when the Fraternity Adviser, with continuity of experience, is expected to be helpful in solving the problems growing out of changing war conditions.

Mr. Chamberlin resumed his active association with the College last fall after special leave of five years, during which he engaged in research for the Progressive Education Association. Before this leave he was Instructor in English from 1929 to 1935, Assistant to the Dean of Freshmen in 1935-36. and Director of Athletic Publicity from 1929 to 1933 and from 1934 to 1936.
