THE REPORT OF THE ALUMNI FUND for last year is carried in this issue and we welcome the opportunity to present, in some detail, the amazing record of the Ernest Martin Hopkins Anniversary Campaign. It was a proper celebration of Prexy's 25th anniversary when nearly 11,000 contributors sent a total of almost $200,000 to Hanover in the most successful of all Dartmouth's long succession of annual spring campaigns. The 1942 Fund begins this month, again under the leadership of Harvey P. Hood II '18 whose chairman's report for last year begins on page 15.

Our principal articles of the month are two one describing something of the varied career of the College's long-time treasurer, Halsey C. Edgerton '06, beginning page 21, and written by Arthur Dewing '25. "I Am NotEntirely Unaware...." by Prof. Bancroft H. Brown, page 18, is a candid review of changing attitudes of students and faculty in war-time:
The Cover Adrian Bouchard's photograph on the cover shows work in electronics, which is a highly valued course in preparing men for military service. The physics instructor is Prof. Willis M. Rayton and the students are: H. L. Gustafson '43 of Worcester (in D sweater) and, in background, Peter Heggie '43 of Camarillo, Calif.
