TWO HUNDRED and eleven freshmen began their Dartmouth careers on July 8, when the special summer term for entering men opened as part of the College's speeded war program. The remainder of the '46 class of approximately 650 men will matriculate on September 10.
Freshmen who entered College in July will be able to receive their degrees in December 1944 rather than May 1946 if they follow the accelerated, three-term schedule throughout their college course.
First-year men attending the summer term of eight weeks will carry only three subjects instead of the usual five, but they will have each class six times a week and will therefore carry a somewhat heavier schedule than the upperclassmen who started summer studies on May 25.
