The secretary has been spending considerable time of late in the good city of Philadelphia, where it almost seems that every third or fourth person on the street is in the Army or the Navy. I've never seen as many men in the services in any of our other cities around New York. Had lunch the other day at the regular Dartmouth luncheon which is held each Tuesday at the Princeton Club here in Philadelphia. with Ed Studwell and Jim Frame. Ed had just returned from Washington and had been reclassified 1-A by his draft board. After having spent a year with the WPB, he returned here to Philadelphia to spend some time in his own business as a manufacturer's representative. In between his calls, he is taking time out to complete a Navy examination, so that right now he doesn't know whether he is going to be in the Army or the Navy, but he's sure that it's going to be one of them.
Jim Frame, still looking very much like the Jim of old, has a thriving insurance practice here in Philadelphia with the Home Life. In addition to his personal selling work, Jim takes on the duties of a supervisor for his general agent. And just as if this wasn't enough to keep him busy, he is pretty much the moving gun, and from what I can see has most of the little odd jobs foisted on his shoulders, by the Dartmouth contingent here. The next closest to Philadelphia is Bill Peschko, living down in Haddonfield, N. J., and some one of these days the gang hopes to see him at the luncheon.
We've had more address changes, headed
by Charlie Babbitt from Boston to Medford, Virginia, Jack Cunningham with the Elliott Co. as a development engineer, is now being located in Jeanette, Pa. Rog Donner has moved to Pittsburgh from Albany, and is now located with the Peoples Pittsburgh Trust Co. in the Smokey City. Bill Fraser, with the Commonwealth Shoe and Leather Co., is now at Bridgewater, Mass. Sam Groves, engineer for the Boots Aircraft Nut Corp. of New Canaan, Conn., has finally decided that he would be better off living nearer his work, and has moved from Bronxville to Miller Road in Darien, Conn. Another one of the gang who felt that too much time spent in commuting was too much time wasted is Shep Wolf, who has sold his home in Scarsdale, N. Y., and is now comfortably set at 139 Arleigh Road, Douglaston, N. Y. And here is a swell promotion in the Army for Charlie Robinson, who has recently been moved up to the rank of captain. Congratulations, Charlie, on such a swell promotion.
Don't forget to send your check to Bill Geiger for class dues. He has a tough job at best, and with so many men in the Service, he's going to have to have the cooperation of everybody to make the class of '31 come out even this year.
Secretary, 224 Beverly Rd., Scarsdale, New York Treasurer, 400 W. Madison St., Chicago, Ill.
