Pete Barker has been named senior vice president, finance and administration, of CBS/Fox Video, the home video division of the CBS/Fox Video Company. Pete was formerly vice president and chief financial officer of the division. In a recent New York Times article, according to Pete's boss, the promotion reflects the broad responsibilities under Pete's direction, including finance, planning, human resources, systems, cash management, and matters involving general policy. The only thing The Times omitted is the fact that Pete also holds down the crucial job of treasurer of the upcoming 30th reunion. Good grief now there is a lot of financial responsiblity.

With respect to our 30th reunion (June 11-14, in case you hadn't marked it on your calendar yet), Steve Mullins points out that reunion time signals a changing of the guard. Dick Steinberg is nominating chairman for he class executive committee and would appreciate hearing classmates' suggestions for specific jobs from president to mini-reunion chairman. Perhaps some of you might volunteer for the job of secretary, treasurer, bequest chairman, or class award chairman. Or perhaps you might recommend a person for one of these important class jobs. Please get in touch with Dick if you have a candidate (S&K Sales Company, 125 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich, CT 06830).

Tom Corcoran has been elected chairman of the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) for a three-year term. Tom reports that the NSAA is the national trade association that represents the interests of the ski areas in the U.S. Membership consists of about 350 U.S. ski areas and companies that supply goods and services to the ski area industry. The position of chairman is the top elective position in the organization.

Tom went on to say that he succeeded Charles D. "Chuck" Lewis '58, founder of Copper Mountain in Colorado. Three of the last eight leaders of the NSAA have had a Dartmouth heritage. In December a feature article in the Boston Sunday Globe outlined what a banner season Corcoran's Waterville Valley was experiencing this winter. In the article, Tom stated that "our reservations are the highest they have ever been for this time of the year."

A communique from Doug Glasgow, reveals that he is easing out of a short-lived, boring retirement and suddenly finds himself involved in real estate, franchising, property mangement, and acting. Doug also told us that grandchild number four is due next May; he said as he faces the ever-creeping calendar, he looks forward to middle age with vigor and hostility: "It should happen to me?" The Glasgows live in Lafayette, Calif., and despite the distance, they will be on hand for the 30th reunion. Perhaps that promising new acting career will bring Doug to Broadway to join producer/actor Tony Kane and actor John Cunningham. Let's hope so.

Dick Barker asked me to remind all classmates that this is a very special year for the Dartmouth Alumni Fund with respect to our big 30th reunion year. Your early contributions and pledges save mailing costs and make your Alumni Fund classmate solicitor's job much easier. The word from Hanover is, please send in your 1984 donation or pledge now.

Bill White, heading up the implementation of the 30th reunion classmate directory, is putting this important project to bed. Remember, this is not another "Reflections" but an update on address information only. Bill also reported that he and Jane attended a 50th birthday celebration for both Dave and Rosemary Mandelbaum some months ago and that "it was a lovely affair at a country club near their home. The Kanes, Davidoffs,Goldsteins, Bartons, and Classons were among those in attendance."

We are pleased to report that First Bank Systems Inc. of Minneapolis named DewaltAnkeny as its president and chief operating officer.

For those of you in the East, please note that Dave McLaughlin will be speaking in Boston on the evening of April 27 and in Portland, Maine, on May 1. Dave will also be addressing alumni on May 14 in Washington, D.C., and on May 15 in Philadlephia. He plans to join us on Wednesday evening, June 13, at the class banquet. Be there.

Jerry Goldstein '54, anticipating the class's fast-approaching 30th reunion, hosted a gatheringof '54s in early December. Attending the gala affair were, left to right, Bill White, Dave Dyche,Bob Clements, Dick Steinberg, Tom Kelsey, Goldstein, David Mandelbaum, George Voss,Ralph Destino, John Heston, Dick Davidoff, Bob Adnopoz, and John Gillespie - '54s all.Gillespie, one of three reunion chairmen, noted that the committee is anxious to encourageclassmates to come for as much of the four-day event (June 11-14) as possible to attend atleast some of the festivities if they can't join in for everything.
